Coding Certificate Program — 10 months

Pre-req:

High School Diploma/GED, Picture ID/Driver's License & Social Security Card. Previous experience in coding is a plus but not required.

The Coding Certificate Program is a 10-month program leading to a Certificate in Coding. The coding professional is a specialist who analyzes health records and assigns codes for medical data. This program will present beginning coders with a firm foundation and an introduction to coding. Upon completion, the participant is prepared to function as a beginning coder in such settings as hospitals and clinics, nursing homes, doctor and dentist offices, mental health facilities and insurance companies. These classes are held in the evenings and on Saturdays. Registration will open in July 2008.

Utilizes recommended content from AHIMA. Presents beginning coder with firm foundation/introduction to coding.

Nurse Aide I - Daytime
Classes: T, W, Th 8:00 am — 3:30 pm; Clinical days: 7:00 am — 3:00 pm
Tuition: $342 plus textbook
Pre req: High School Diploma/GED, Picture ID, Social Security Card, Speak & Read English fluently, Immunization documentation

  • 06/16/08 - 07/23/08 (M, T, W 9:00 am to 4:30 pm)

Note: The state competency exam is no longer part of the Nurse Aide I course or the Nurse Aide I Review course. Instead, students will take a mock exam as part of this course. Students will be eligible to take the competency exam upon successful completion of the NA I / NA I Review course. Information will be provided about applying to take the exam. Students will be responsible for paying the fee to take the competency exam. This fee is not included in the cost the CCHS NA I / NA I Review course. For more information visit www.promissor.com.

Nurse Aide I - Evening

Approved documentation to validate one of the pre-reqs below is required prior to enrollment:

1. Has previously been on the NC NA I Registry (or another state), but failed to renew certification.

2. Provide written statement describing NA I patient care activities participant has performed and recommending participant for program from an RN (registered in NC) who was participant's supervisor.

3. Is a certified Emergency Medical Technician

4. Has successfully completed a Medical Assistant program.

5. Picture ID/Driver's License & Social Security Card

Medication Aide Training Program

Tuition: $108, plus $10 book
