About Me

Angela Reid, MBA, MHA, BSN, NEA-BC, serves as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Atrium Health Cabarrus. With 35 years of nursing experience, Angela has dedicated 23 of those years to leadership roles at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Over the past 24 years, she has been instrumental in developing numerous complex inpatient surgical programs, including neurosurgery, hepatobiliary, bariatric, orthopedic, and advanced spine surgery. Additionally, she has led our inpatient neurosciences team, making it a central hub for the Greater Charlotte Region.

Before her current role as CNO, Angela was the Assistant Vice President of Nursing, overseeing inpatient surgery services, neurology services, and behavioral health services. During this time, she successfully led initiatives that resulted in a reduction in falls, an increase in patient satisfaction, and significant improvements in infection control. Under Angela’s guidance, we have implemented various throughput and capacity initiatives and are preparing for ANCC designation through the Pathway to Excellence program this fall. Angela is known for her servant leadership and dedication to advocating for patients, families, teammates, and the community.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and dual master’s degrees in Health Administration and Business Administration from Pfeiffer University. She has actively contributed to multiple boards and taskforces in Cabarrus County, including the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Board of Directors and the Cabarrus County Mental Health Taskforce.

Residing in Cabarrus County with her husband William, son Medgar, and dog Midnight, Angela enjoys gardening and spending quality time with her family.
