About Me
Jessica is a Public/Community Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and works for Atrium Health. She collaborates with community partners and stakeholders to develop and implement plans of action to improve the health of communities here in Cabarrus County and in the surrounding region.
As a graduate of a hospital-based diploma program, Jessica later became a proud alumna of the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences’ first class of BSN completion students. While she was there, she circulated the petition to begin the process of starting a chapter of the professional honor society of nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, later serving in committee leadership positions to see the project through to completion until it successfully became the Upsilon Mu Chapter. It is because of the rigor and intellectual stimulation of that BSN completion program that she pursued a graduate degree in nursing, graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing, Community Health, Population Focus, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She obtained a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education from UNC Charlotte. She regularly precepted students in both the nursing and public health disciplines for UNC Charlotte. Jessica has served as adjunct faculty with UNC Charlotte as well as Cabarrus College, teaching both Community Health Nursing and Holistic Nursing courses.
Jessica has served on several boards in leadership positions. She currently serves on the Board of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, the Cabarrus Arts Council and Mental Health America of Central Carolinas. In 2017 she began her own business, Creative Harmony Enterprises, to help address housing insecurity for at-risk families. She grew up always wanting to be a nurse and has enjoyed the profession for over 40 years. She currently enjoys travel, painting, reading, Netflix, and spending time with her four grandchildren.
