About Me

Dr. Trent Blackman came to Concord in 1994, joining Cabarrus Urology Clinic and the medical staff of the Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, now Atrium Health Cabarrus. In 2009, the practice along with 8 other urology practices, merged to form Carolina Urology Partners, a 28-physician group serving communities in North and South Carolina.

He currently serves (for the past 20 years) on the board of directors of the Stone Institute of the Carolinas, an organization providing lithotripsy (kidney stone treatment) services to communities in North and South Carolina. Dr. Blackman has also served for the past 5 years on the board of directors of Carolina Urology Partners. He is involved with Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency, providing outpatient clinical rotation for Family Medicine residents. Dr. Black has also been a  Fellow of the American College of Surgeons for over 20 years, diplomate of the American Board of Urology for 26 years.

A native of Salisbury, N.C., he graduated from the University of North Carolina with Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and subsequently from UNC School of Medicine with MD.  He also completed a 6-year urologic surgery residence at St Louis University Medical Center, St Louis MO.

Dr. Blackman is married to Elaine Blackman RN, who is currently Clinical Manager of offices and endoscopy for Northeast Digestive Health.  They have 3 adult children, and 3 Sheltie “grand dogs”.  Dr. Blackman enjoys spending time in the mountains and beaches of NC with his family.
