
Dr. Uzarski joins Advocate Health with nearly 40 years of leadership in health care, having spearheaded major accomplishments in academic nursing, strategic planning, research administration, team science and interprofessional education and practice.
Most recently, she served as Founding Dean and Professor of Practice at Saint Anselm College Jean School of Nursing and Health Sciences in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she was responsible for developing and implementing the school’s vision, mission, strategic plan and programmatic outcomes. She oversaw three undergraduate healthcare majors and the Continuing Nursing Education program and launched the school’s first graduate nursing program, an MSN in Leadership and Innovation. Prior to that Dr. Uzarski served as the Chief of Staff in the Dean’s Office at Duke University School of Nursing, where she led executive-level initiatives on behalf of the Dean, including implementing the school’s five-year strategic plan and guiding multiple mission-driven initiatives. Prior to that, she was a highly regarded healthcare leader and administrator at Duke University and held leadership roles across private, public, and academic settings.
Dr. Uzarski holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Iona College, a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University. Regularly called upon as an industry expert within healthcare and academic nursing, she serves on the Catholic Medical Center/HCA Board of Trustees and previously chaired the Strategic Planning Committee for six years on the Duke Catholic Center Board of Advisors.
