About Me

Ms. Campbell earned her Associate of Science in Surgical Technology from Guilford Technical Community College. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Gardner-Webb and her Masters of Human Services from Liberty University. 

Ms. Campbell worked for Cone Health as a Certified Surgical Technologist for twenty years. While at the hospital, she specialized in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and Orthopedics. 

In 2001 Ms. Campbell started her career as an educator with Guildford Technical Community College. She was the Clinical Coordinator for 15 years. While still employed at Cone Health PRN she was offered the position of System Director for Sterile Processing. She served in the position for 6 years. Following her passion for education Ms. Campbell returned to education in 2020. 

Ms. Campbell has served on state and national boards promoting surgical technology. She was elected to the North Carolina State Assembly for the Association of Surgical Technology, as Secretary from 2006-2007. She was later elected to the North Carolina State Assembly for the Association of Surgical Technology, as Vice-President from 2007-to 2009. Continuing her passion and dedication to the advancement of Surgical Technology she was elected to the North Carolina State Assembly for the Association of Surgical Technology, as President from 2009-2013. 

Serving on the national level. Ms. Campbell was appointed to the Association of Surgical Technology as a board member of the National Education and Professional Standards Committee for Surgical Technology from June 2006 to June 2011. She was later elected as Chair of the Association of Surgical Technology of the National Education and Professional Standards Committee for Surgical Technology from June 2011 to June 2013. Ms. Campbell was then later appointed to the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, as a Director on the Board, from June 2014 to July 2017. Later was elected as Vice President of the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, from July 2017-July 2020. 

Ms. Campbell holds not only the CST credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting but, also the FAST (Fellow of the Association of Surgical Technologists) credential. This is the highest credential awarded to a Surgical Technologist. 

Ms. Campbell loves spending time with her family and her dogs and cat. She loves backpacking, camping, and kayaking.
