About Me
Dr. Spring Gallagher received her B.A. in Chemistry from Grinnell College and her Ph.D. in Inorganic and Organic Chemistry from the University of Oregon. Her research interests throughout her career have focused on the synthesis and mechanistic studies of homogeneous catalysts that facilitate the chemical transformations of small organic molecules, with the goal of developing more environmentally friendly methods to synthesize molecules used by the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Gallagher received four years of postdoctoral training, first at Colgate University, and then at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also served for four years as laboratory manager of an academic research laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Gallagher has taught introductory and advanced undergraduate chemistry courses at Colgate University and the College of Wooster. She is currently Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, where she teaches classes and labs for Introductory and Organic Chemistry.
Outside of work, she loves to garden and spending time with her husband and two children.
