About Me
Heather Hodges is a dedicated surgical technology professional and educator who earned her Associate of Science in Surgical Technology from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, graduating cum laude. She later returned to Cabarrus College to complete her Master of Science in Health Sciences (MSHS), further advancing her expertise in healthcare education and leadership.
Heather began her career at Atrium Health Cabarrus, where she worked as a surgical technologist for eight years and served as the General Surgery Coordinator. In 2019, she transitioned to Gateway Ambulatory Surgery Center, continuing her commitment to excellence in patient care and surgical services.
Her passion for Surgical Technology led her to serve on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST), including a term as President. Nationally, Heather is currently serving on the Exam Review Committee for Certified Surgical Technologists (ERC-CST) with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), contributing to the advancement of certification standards and professional development.
Heather holds current certification in surgical technology through NBSTSA. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, hiking, paddling, and camping.
