About Me
Lisa M. Lunsford, MSN, RN, COTA/L, is a dedicated clinical nursing educator and mentor at the Louise Harkey School of Nursing at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Concord, North Carolina. With a robust clinical background spanning medical-surgical nursing, school-based nursing, dialysis, pediatrics, home health, nursing education including experience as a facility nurse educator with Atrium Health Hospice and Palliative Care. Mrs. Lunsford brings real-world healthcare insights directly into the classroom and clinical settings.
Passionate about student-centered learning, Mrs. Lunsford is committed to fostering an engaging, supportive environment that empowers future nurses to deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care. Working on the immersive, hospital-based campus alongside Atrium Health, Mrs. Lunsford takes pride in guiding students through hands-on clinical practice and helping them build the critical-thinking skills needed for a successful nursing career. She remains passionate about life-long learning and encourages students that nursing education is an essential part of nursing practice and for the improvement of patient outcomes.
Mrs. Lunsford earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Stanly Community College, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences and a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education from Winston-Salem State University. Outside of teaching, she enjoys singing in church, baking, reading, gardening, canning, spending time with family (especially her 6 grandchildren), laying by the pool or on the beach, traveling, local community volunteering and she remains active in professional nursing organizations.
