About Me

Dr. Phronebarger, affectionately known by her students as Dr. P., earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University, a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Charleston.

Dr. Phronebarger brings extensive experience in teaching and leadership to her work in higher education. She has taught numerous psychology courses and has been actively involved in curriculum development and instructional design, prioritizing strategies that enhance student success. A dedicated educator and administrator, Dr. Phronebarger has served as the Chair of Health Sciences & General Education at Carolinas College of Health Sciences since January 2019. In January 2025, she expanded her leadership responsibilities by assuming a shared position as Chair of General Education for Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Phronebarger enjoys spending quality time with her family.
