About Me

Michelle Payne is a passionate educator and healthcare professional with a deep commitment to the field of Surgical Technology and the success of her students. She earned a Master of Arts in Adult Education with a certificate in Healthcare Education from East Carolina University, a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Leadership and Management, and an Associate of Science in Surgical Technology from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, graduating summa cum laude.

Michelle has dedicated her career to applying her expertise in both clinical and academic settings, including local hospitals and higher education institutions such as Cabarrus College. Her work is driven by a desire to share her passion for Surgical Technology and to empower students to thrive in this essential healthcare profession.

She is currently certified in Surgical Technology by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), where she proudly serves as President. Michelle is also a Fellow of the Association of Surgical Technologists (FAST) and a former Board Member of AST, reflecting her longstanding commitment to professional excellence and leadership in the field.

As a published author, Michelle contributes to the advancement of Surgical Technology through scholarly work and thought leadership. Outside of her professional roles, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and exploring the outdoors. Her life and career are guided by a passion for growth, connection, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
